Understanding Pain 

As remedial massage therapist and myotherapists we see people in pain eery day. Our goal is to relieve it and make sure it doesn't come back. Pain is a really interesting phenomenon that involves such a wide variety of factors that contribute to how you experience it.
  • Why is it that digging an elbow into one person's leg, in the form of a trigger point release can illicit a severe pain reaction and yet another people will feel that as a ticklish sensation.

Pain Explained

Pain is described by Broken and Khan as an unpleasant sensation that can evoke a sensory and emotional experience within the body. The goal of pain is to stop us from doing something that may be harmful to the body. Everyone experiences it and yet the way we experience it can be completely different from one person to the other.
