Pregnancy Massage

How is Pregnancy Massage Different?

Pregnancy Massage is a version of remedial massage that is adapted to suit the physical changes that occur during pregnancy.
Just Knead It therapists have undergone specific training in best practices for pregnancy massage including positioning on the table.

At Just Knead It, we believe in maximum comfort for our mums to be! We have a specially designed bed that allows expectant mums to lay on their front whilst receiving treatment. Pregnancy treatments may also be conducted side-lying if this is more comfortable.

At what stage is it safe to get massage during pregnancy?

It is possible receive treatment in your first trimester provided that your pregnancy is considered ‘normal.’ However it is highly recommended that you consult your physician before receiving treatment. It is also very important that you do not have any of the following factors that classify you as high risk. These include: pre-eclampsia, diabetes, high blood pressure, severe morning sickness or previous history of miscarriage.

If you suspect that you may have any risk factors, it is recommended that you wait until after the first trimester to have a massage and after consultation with your physician.
